1in20 (One in Twenty), a subsidiary of Campfire Media LLC (“Company” or “us”), is committed to protecting the privacy of all current and former users of www.oneintwenty.org (the “Site”).  We want you to fully understand our privacy practices and have published this Privacy Policy to explain how Company treats personal information you submit to Company in connection with your access to and/or use of the Site and the Service.  

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully prior to your access to, and/or use of the Site and the Service.  If you do not agree to abide by this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the Site or the Service.  By using the Site or the Service or by submitting any Content to Company, you are accepting the practices described in this Privacy Policy and the Terms and Conditions.  This Privacy Policy is governed by the Terms and Conditions, which includes all disclaimers of warranties and limitation of liabilities. This Privacy Policy applies to your personal information for as long as such personal information is in our possession, even if you terminate or discontinue your use of the Site and the Service.

Information Company Collects

Company will collect the following types of personal information from you (“Information”):

    • Your full name, username, phone number, address and/or e-mail address, zip code, date of birth, and other personally identifiable information when you send us a Submission or certain other Content for publication to be featured on the Site.

Company may choose to store and process Information in the United States or any other country in which Company or its agents maintain facilities.  By using the Site and the Service, you consent to any such transfer of information outside of your country, where data protection laws may be different. Company makes no representation or warranty with respect to any duty to permanently store any Information you may provide.  By using the Site or the Service and providing us with Information, you waive any claims that may arise under your own or any other local or national laws, rules or regulations or international treaties.

Use of Information

Company uses your Information to identify you and to potentially improve the Site and the Service, maintain security, respond to your requests, questions and comments, and to provide you with information about Company, the Site and/or the Service. Your Information may also be aggregated and used by Company for market research, project planning, troubleshooting problems, detecting and protecting against error, fraud or other criminal activity, to enforce the Terms and Conditions, for other internal purposes, and as otherwise described to you at the time of collection.  Company will obtain your consent for any use of your Information beyond those set forth in this Privacy Policy and the original uses for which you provided your consent. 

You agree that Company may use your Information to contact you. Unless you specifically opt out, you agree that Company may use your Information to deliver information to you that is relevant to your use of the Site or the Service such as administrative notices, Site updates or Service “newsletters”.  By accepting the Terms and Conditions and this Privacy Policy, you expressly agree to receive this information, unless you specifically opt out in applicable circumstances. 

Disclosure of Information

Except as expressly provided herein, Company does not share your Information with any unrelated third parties without your prior consent.  There are, however, certain instances in which we may disclose your Information in the normal scope of business to provide you with the Site and the Service.  Further, Company may use third parties to outsource one or more aspects of its business (such as email or customer service providers, data processing, and security execution and clearing services), in which case, Company would have to disclose to such third parties the Information necessary for such third parties to provide such services (provided, that such third parties would be required by Company to comply with this Privacy Policy and any other obligation of Company with respect to any Information provided by you in connection with the Site and/or the Service, to the same extent as Company’s obligations).   

Notwithstanding the foregoing, Company reserves the right, and you authorize Company, to share or disclose your Information, including, without limitation, any content, records or electronic communications of any kind, when Company determines, in its sole discretion, that the disclosure of your Information is necessary to identify, contact, or bring legal action against you if:

Security; Protecting Your Information

Although we take appropriate measures to safeguard against unauthorized disclosures of your Information, the internet by its nature is not a secure environment and the nature of security risks is constantly evolving, as are the technical and organizational industry standards relating to management of those risks.  Therefore, we cannot assure you that your Information will never be disclosed in a manner that is inconsistent with this Privacy Policy.  We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures and security standards to safeguard and help prevent unauthorized access, maintain data security, and correctly use the Information we collect online.  A key part of this process helps ensure that all Information we have about you is accurate and up-to-date.  In the unlikely event that an unauthorized third party compromises Company’s security measures, Company will not be responsible for any damages directly or indirectly caused by an unauthorized third party’s ability to view, use or disseminate such Information.  If you ever discover inaccuracies in our data or if your Information changes, we urge you to notify us immediately. 

 

Collection of Information by Third Parties

At times, reputable third parties may present or serve the advertisements, provide us with data collection, reporting and ad response measurement, as well as assist with delivery of relevant marketing messages and advertisements. These third parties may view, edit, or set their own cookies. The use of these technologies by these third parties is subject to their own privacy policies and is not covered by this privacy statement.

 

Cookies and Other Technical Information

We, our third party service providers, and our partners may send “Cookies” to your computer or use similar technologies to enhance your online experience at our Site and across the Internet. “Cookies” are alphanumeric identifiers in the form of text files that can identify you as a unique customer and store your personal preferences as well as technical information (including click through and click stream data).  Cookies manage and measure the performance of advertisements displayed on or delivered by or through the Service and/or other networks or sites.  Cookies can either be permanent (i.e., they remain on your computer until you delete them) or temporary (i.e., they last only until you close your browser).  We may also use “Web beacons” (also known as pixel tags and clear GIFs) that monitor your use of our Site.  Web beacons are small strings of code that provide a method for delivering a graphic image on a Web page for the purpose of transferring data, such as the IP (Internet Protocol) address of the computer that downloaded the page on which the Web beacon appears, the URL (Uniform Resource Locator) of the page on which the Web beacon appears, the time the page containing the Web beacon was viewed, the types of browser that fetched the Web beacon and the identification number of any cookie on the computer previously placed by that server.  When corresponding with you via HTML capable e-mail, Web beacons let us know whether you received and opened our e-mail. 

On their own, Cookies or Web beacons do not contain or reveal any personally identifiable information. However, if you choose to furnish personally identifiable information, this information can be linked to the data stored in the cookies/Web beacons.

By accepting this Privacy Policy, you specifically agree to our use of Cookies and Web beacons as described herein.  You may adjust your browser to reject Cookies from us or from any other Web site. Additionally, by setting your Web browser to display HTML e-mails as text only, you may be able to prevent the use of some Web beacons.  Please consult the “Help” section of your browser for more information. However, certain areas of our Site can only be accessed in conjunction with Cookies or similar devices and you should be aware that disabling Cookies or similar devices might prevent you from accessing some of our content.

The Site may include links to third party websites, content or services (“Third Party Sites”), as well as third party social media services and webpages that are associated with the Site and the Service (“Social Media Channels”), which have different privacy practices and terms and conditions of use than those contained on our Site.  Such links are not an endorsement by Company of those Third Party Sites and Social Media Channels or the content and/or other products or services they offer.  Company is not responsible for the privacy practices or terms and conditions of use of such Third Party Sites or Social Media Channels.  If you click on a link to a Third Party Site or Social Media Channel, Company encourages you to check the applicable privacy policy and terms and conditions of sue, as it may differ substantially from that of this Privacy Policy and our Terms and Conditions.  Company makes no representations or warranties nor is Company responsible for the privacy policies of any Third Party Site or Social Media Channel.  If you decide to access any links to Third Party Sites or Social Media Channels appearing on the Site, you do so at your own risk. 

Our Policy Towards Children

At various places on the Site or when submitting or otherwise posting certain Content thereto, we may ask Users for their age.  By using the Site and the Service you agree to respond truthfully and accurately about your age.  In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect any personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen (13) (e.g., information that would allow anyone to locate children under thirteen (13) online or offline, such as full name, email address, home address, phone number, etc.).  Children under the age of thirteen (13) are expressly prohibited from submitting or posting any Information or Content on the Site.  If you are under thirteen (13) years of age, then please do not use or access the Site or the Service at any time or in any manner.  If Company learns that Information of persons under the age of thirteen (13) years has been collected without verified parental consent, then Company will take the appropriate steps to delete this Information. 

Changes to this Policy

Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to update, amend, supplement, modify and/or change this Privacy Policy without prior notice to you and at any time.  Updates to this Privacy Policy will be posted on the Site.  You are encouraged to revisit this Privacy Policy from time to time in order to review any changes that have been made. Your continued use of the Site and the Service following the posting of any such changes shall automatically be deemed your acceptance of all such changes.

Special Notice to California Residents

California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits Users who are California residents to request and obtain from us once a year, free of charge, a list of the third parties to whom we disclosed their personal information (if any) for direct marketing purposes in the preceding calendar year and the categories of personal information disclosed to those third parties.  To make such a request, please contact us atsubmit@oneintwenty.org to submit the request (including in the Subject line the words “California Third Party List Request”).  Please note that Company is only required to respond to one request per customer each year.  Company is not required to respond to requests made by means other than through the e-mail address listed above.
